Uhlíkový dluh produkce biopaliv
PÁTEK, 06 Květen 2011Environmentální problémy jako rostoucí spotřeba energie, klimatické změny a emise CO2 vedou k hledání alternativních paliv s nízkým obsahem uhlíku. V poslední době roste poptávka po biopalivech vyráběných ze zemědělských plodin. Jedná se zejména o kukuřici, cukrovou třtinu, sóju a palmy. Zda se energeticky vytěžované plodiny pěstované na zemědělské půdě stanou úsporou uhlíku uvolňovaného lidskou společností závisí mj. na způsobu jejich produkce. Přeměna lesů, rašelinišť a travin na půdu pro pěstování biopaliv nesnižuje emise skleníkových plynů, ale naopak vytváří rozsáhlý "uhlíkový dluh".
